Job Description:

A fully qualified and experienced Early Years Practitioner holding an Early Childhood Degree / Diploma / registered CCC / ECE is required to join our lovely team in 2017 /2018. The candidate should have a native standard of English, be passionate about teaching and possess some understanding of the needs of ESL children within the EYFS framework.
There should be evidence of sound knowledge of lesson planning and writing evaluations, computer and ICT operations, including use of an i.board as a resource for teaching. The teacher will have strong self organization skills and excellent classroom management skills as well as being able to work as a part of a team. We require a person with a pleasant cheerful personality who is able to develop a rapport with parents and families of children in the school.

Work Visa

The application for a work visa will be sponsored and paid for by the school and processed after the result of the certificate of assessment and accreditation of qualifications has been submitted (if qualifications are non-local).

About the Preschool and Nursery

We are an international preschool and nursery, we have 8 spacious classrooms, an indoor and outdoor play area and a music / multi purpose room occupying about 6000sq ft on the ground floor of a tower block. We implement the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to a large extent with adjustments for ESL learners who make up some the international cohort of students. Each of our classes have approximately 18 children with one teacher and a shared assistant. We operate half day classes from Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon with each session being of 3 hours duration.

Job Requirements / Responsibilities:

The class teacher will assist in implementing the EYFS curriculum to an international cohort of children. Preparation of daily lesson plans as well as making short, medium and long term plans. A proactive approach is required in developing the ‘whole child’ through accurate and effective assessments to determine strengths and weaknesses as children develop and move toward achieving the early learning goals set out in the EYFS framework. A positive active participation in school events such as open days, the PTA committee, parents consultations and school interviews is expected. The healthy development of home-school cooperation, including organizing activities for class parents / helpers. Recording of class / school events through various media, video, photo for web upload or children’s portfolios. Organising of field trips and activities for children and parents that tie in to planning and enhance knowledge of a particular topic. Preparation of three termly reports based on the EYFS framework to be discussed at parent consultations.
